Terms of Service
Effective: 3 March 2026 · PARTICULAS EPICAS, LDA · Portugal
Agreement to these Terms
By downloading, installing, or using DoomGuard, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
DoomGuard is operated by PARTICULAS EPICAS, LDA, incorporated in Portugal. Questions: doomguard.dev@gmail.com.
1. The Service
DoomGuard is a digital wellbeing application that helps you become more aware of your social media usage habits. It integrates with Apple's Screen Time API to deliver timely nudges when you open apps you've chosen to guard. DoomGuard does not block apps — it provides friendly reminders to help you make conscious choices.
The effectiveness of DoomGuard depends on your own engagement. We make no guarantees about changes in your behaviour or screen time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 9 years old to use DoomGuard. If you are under 13, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the app, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
DoomGuard uses Sign In with Apple for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID. You may not transfer your account to another person.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
DoomGuard offers a free tier and a DoomGuard Premium subscription. Premium subscriptions are managed through Apple's in-app purchase system.
Billing. Your subscription is billed through your Apple ID. Prices and billing frequency are shown at the time of purchase.
Free trial. If offered, a free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before expiry.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store Terms. We are unable to process refunds directly.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- →Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with any part of the app
- →Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- →Interfere with or disrupt our servers or infrastructure
- →Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limitations
- →Attempt to access another user's account
6. Apple Screen Time Integration
DoomGuard requires authorization to use Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls framework). By granting this permission, you allow DoomGuard to monitor app-opening events for apps you select and to deliver in-app nudges at your configured frequency.
This permission can be revoked at any time in your iPhone's Settings → Screen Time → DoomGuard. Revoking permission will disable nudge delivery.
7. Disclaimers
DoomGuard is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- •The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
- •The nudge system will produce a specific change in your behaviour
- •The app will remain compatible with future iOS versions
Screen Time counts displayed in the app are provided by Apple's operating system. We are not responsible for their accuracy.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PARTICULAS EPICAS, LDA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use DoomGuard, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
9. Intellectual Property
DoomGuard, its name, logo, and all associated content are the property of PARTICULAS EPICAS, LDA. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
10. Termination
